Toyota Yaris has ranked first since July 2020. Yaris has defended the position for 15 month. Toyota Aqua is in second place, up from third last month. Also Toyota has risen to 8th place from 16th place last month. People movers are still very popular as always, Toyota Alphard and Nissan Serena ranked 4th and 6th. On the other hand, Toyota Harrier (SUV) and Voxy (People mover) were very strong in the first half of this year, but they are outside the ranking this time.
JADA (Japan Automobile Dealers Association) reported new car sales in Japan decreased again in September. The sales of Toyota Yaris ranked first for the third consecutive month with 12,696 units sold. Also 4 K-cars were ranked in the top 10. The Honda N-BOX topped the list of K-cars, followed by Nissan Roox and Suzuki Wagon R.
Export used vehicle ranking in Japan (July - Aug 2021) Export numbers of used vehicles from Japan in August (104,145 units) increased 20.0% more than the same month last year (YoY). According to the Japan Used Vehicle Exporters Association, Russia ranked first for the last 4 month. Chile ranked 2nd with 12,203 vehicles. New Zealand came in 3rd with 11,264 vehicles, up 156%.
The numbers and rates are almost same as the last week. It is expected the same situation would be continued until the end of the month.
Total numbers of auction cars are getting smaller these 2-3 weeks. The fiscal period has finished, and Japanese proper dealers seem like they have finished selling cars at auctions and preparing retails. Export markets have been pretty busy for this 5-6 month, but they are settled little by little.

The market prices are still steady but obviously vehicles for European market such as small hatches have been expensive for this 2-3 month. Also numbers for Republic of Chile has been increased a lot since last August. Classic vehicles for American/Canadian market were slightly cheaper than before.

As the new business period has stared, a lot of auctions are holding events this week too. Finally 133,341 cars were on this week, and 95,860 cars had been sold. The Japanese domestic market is still very positive, thus the total number of cars will be steady for a while.
First half of the financial year is finished, and the last half has just started. Many auctions held anniversary/festival events this week. Thus the average success rate and prices are slightly higher than last week. Usually the sold prices tend to be higher on festival/events auctions.
